In case you haven’t been paying much attention, Bobby Portis has been a revelation for the Milwaukee Bucks this season. The veteran has been integral to Milwaukee’s success thus far as he consistently provides a boost off the bench game in and gamt out.
Sunday’s performance against the Portland Trail Blazers was no different.

Portis provided a key spark for Milwaukee on Sunday, as he came up with clutch plays in the fourth quarter. The Bucks came all the way back from 26 points down in this one, and Portis’ hustle plays down the stretch was integral to their comeback.
“Just bringing heart,” Portis said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I had nothing going on for me. I was missing layups. Missing shots I normally make. But one thing I always rely on is effort, whether I’m making shots or missing I give my all on a daily basis. When I step out there I’m 110% in. That’s one thing nobody can take from me no matter what. I play hard, I play with all heart.”
This is exactly what makes Portis so valuable for the team. Apart from the fact that he’s averaging 11.8 points per game off the bench, it’s the burst of energy that he brings to the court that makes him such a key piece to the puzzle.
As Portis said, he comes to play every single night. He always stays ready for when his number is called, which is something he’s banked on throughout what has been quite a colorful career.
