Could the Milwaukee Bucks potentially add this former number one overall pick?
In recent weeks, the Milwaukee Bucks have been targeting defensive-minded players with the likes of Mattise Thybulle, Royce O’Neal, Marcus Smart, and recently Grant Williams.
But this trade target could catapult Milwaukee into the championship picture.
The Milwaukee Bucks are interested in Andrew Wiggins
The Golden State Warriors are in danger of missing the playoffs and will look to trade away their expendable veteran talent.
Out of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Andrew Wiggins, Wiggins fits the billing of being the most expendable, as he is the youngest player in this group and carries a hefty price tag.
Wiggins is making $24 million this season, and he hasn’t played up to standard this season, as he’s only averaging 12.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 43 percent from the field.
Milwaukee does have a couple of assets to offer Golden State that would drive a trade.

What would the Milwaukee Bucks have to give up to acquire Andrew Wiggins?
A trade of this magnitude would require another team to be involved. The Bucks would likely have to give up one of their young assets, either MarJon Beauchamp or Andre Jackson Jr. Golden State knows its window has closed with this group and has to stockpile young talent. This trade would not only help them do that but A-Jax or Beauchamp would thrive in Steve Kerr’s system.
Milwaukee would welcome this trade because Wiggins can guard all five positions and gives the team a much-needed longer guard.
Milwaukee’s trade targets, thus far, have been long defensive-minded guards, but none have been the caliber of Andrew Wiggins, who can be a top-15 player in the league with the right team.
The only negatives to this trade for the Milwaukee Bucks would be what role would Wiggins have on the team. Milwaukee has their starting five, so would Wiggins come off the bench and improve a lacking bench unit? Milwaukee also has their star players locked up to massive extensions, so would Wiggins be a rental, or would he be the missing piece?
Buckle up because one of those questions is going to be answered on the NBA’s Trade Deadline on Thursday.
