Trades go both ways, which means that if the Milwaukee Bucks want to bring in a big name before the February deadline, it only follows that they should be willing to part ways with some of their msot valuable assets.
Two players, in particular, do not appear to be on the trade block for the Bucks amid rumors linking them to a potential move away from Milwaukee.
Alex Caruso a ‘Top-Tier’ Target for Milwaukee Bucks
In a recent report by Bucks team insider Jake Weinbach, he identified Alex Caruso of the Chicago Bulls as a “top tier target” for Milwaukee. This is far from the first time the 29-year-old has been linked to a potential move to Milwaukee as the team looks to make the necessary defensive improvements in their backcourt.
The Bulls appear to be gearing up to potentially blow up their roster ahead of the deadline, which could lead to Caruso hitting the trade block. Weinbach’s recent report seems to confirm that Milwaukee will indeed be one of the teams that will be in the market for the 6-foot-5 combo guard should he become available.
Apart from Caruso, however, Weinbach also reports that the Bucks “will be in the market for a defensive-minded wing.”
Bucks Intent on Keeping Young Talent
The fact of the matter is that the Bucks don’t have much trade assets available. Their offseason blockbuster move for Damian Lillard pretty much depleted their arsenal, therby leaving them with not much more beyond a couple of promising young talents that could pique the interest of opposing teams.
Weinbach reports, however, that neither MarJon Beauchamp nor Andre Jackson Jr. are expected to be available in trade talks. Milwaukee currently has very limited young talent on its roster, and at this point, they appear intent on keeping both Beauchamp and Jackson.
This only means that given their unwillingness to part ways with arguably their most valuable trade assets, the Bucks could be hard-pressed in trading for a big-name player such as Caruso. This is also why Weinbach has noted that he believes Milwaukee “will be active on the buyout scene.”
