In case you forgot, the Milwaukee Bucks are still missing one member of their coaching staff. This is after former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts suddenly decided to step down from his post just days before the regular season started.
It took them some time to fill the void, but the Bucks have now finally found their man.
Milwaukee Bucks Hire New Assistant Coach
That man is Trevor Gleeson, who previously served as an assistant for the Toronto Raptors.
The news broke right before Wednesday’s game against the Brooklyn Nets. It was NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski who was one of the first to report this significant development:
The Milwaukee Bucks hired Trevor Gleeson as an assistant coach on Adrian Griffin’s staff, Griffin said in Brooklyn tonight. Gleeson spent the past two years with Griffin on the Toronto Raptors staff, and previously won five titles as a head coach in Australia’s NBL.

Griffin and Gleeson have a bit of history together after having spent one season working with each other with the Raptors.
Adrian Griffin Comments on Gleeson Hire
During his press conference ahead of the Nets game on Wednesday night, Griffin took the opportunity to welcome Gleeson to Milwaukee. Coach Griff lauded his new assistant’s “wealth of experience” as he described Gleeson’s role for the squad:
“Overall, for the first couple of weeks, I think he’ll just observe our team,” Griffin said, via Eric Nehm of The Athletic. “Get to know the players, get to know the staff, and we’ll start giving him more responsibility as the season progresses and he becomes more comfortable with our system on both sides of the ball.
“But he’s been great. We’ve kind of had some talks already this year and even in Australia, he’s been watching our games and just kind of giving us and giving me feedback. He’s someone that I trust. He has a great mind for the game.
“But right now, I think we’ll just ease him in and let him get acclimated to our team. But he’s strong on both sides of the ball. He’ll definitely start doing some of the scouts as he gets more comfortable.”
