Former Milwaukee Brewers catcher Stephen Vogt is reportedly being strongly considered for one managerial job opening.  According to Jeff Passan he has been interviewed to become the next manager of the San Francisco Giants as well as Cleveland Guardians.  Right now he is a serious candidate for the Guardians job opening.

Milwaukee Brewers News: Stephen Vogt is a serious candidate to become the next manager of the Cleveland Guardians, but also interviewed with the San Francisco Giants.

Cleveland is currently in search of a new manager after Terry Francona elected to step down after 11 seasons and Stephen Vogt could be the next man in charge.  On the other hand San Francisco fired Gabe Kapler after four seasons and also is in need of a new skipper.  They are supposedly interested in current San Diego Padres manager Bob Melvin.

Vogt, who spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the Brewers, is currently with the Seattle Mariners.  He spent last season as the bullpen and quality control coach.  He’s left a strong impression everywhere he has been and it is no surprise to see him as a leading candidate for a manager’s job.

It will be interesting to see if Stephen Vogt gets to be a manager in 2024 or not.  He is just 38 years old, but as a former player he theoretically could connect well with the players.  If he doesn’t get a job next season it is likely that he will at some point throughout his career.
