The Milwaukee Brewers officially announced the signing of Pat Murphy as their next manager. He is the 20th skipper in franchise history and he received a three year contract. There will be an introductory press conference on Thursday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. but before that GM Matt Arnold released a statement on the hire.

In a news release GM Matt Arnold commented on the official hiring of Pat Murphy as the team’s next manager.
“Pat Murphy brings a wealth of experience, knowledge, and passion for the game of baseball as well as a familiarity with the Brewers organization, players, staff, and culture. Pat Has been a significant contributor in the run of recent seasons of unprecedented success in franchise history. We are pleased to have Pat remain in the Brewers family and excited to name him manager today.”
The Brewers also announced several other coaching moves. Rickie Weeks is being promoted from a player development role to the title associate manager. Walker McKinven is now the team’s run prevention coordinator, Jim Henderson was promoted to assistant pitching coach, and Nestor Corredor became the major-league field coordinator.

Returning in 2024 is the remainder of the Brewers coaching staff including pitching coach Chris Hook, third-base coach Jason Lane, first-base coach Quintin Berry, and co-hitting coaches Ozzie Timmons and Connor Dawson. With Rickie Weeks receiving a special title of associate manager there have been no rumblings of the team hiring a new bench coach.
