The Milwaukee Brewers, like several other teams around the league, are good about sharing key moments in players and coaches careers. These are often seen in the form of videos and pictures. This year we were let in on signature events such as Brice Turang making the opening day roster, Christian Yelich reaching 10 years of MLB service time, Wade Miley’s 100th career win, and major-league call ups for Sal Frelick and Abner Uribe.
The latest news surrounding the Milwaukee Brewers is the promotion of Pat Murphy from bench coach to manager. This is a big moment for the soon to be 65 year old and through social media channels the Brew Crew shared the moment he found out he was going to become their next manager.
Video goes viral regarding the moment Pat Murphy found out he was becoming the next manager of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Delivering the news to Pat Murphy was Matt Arnold’s son Tyler. This was done over a phone call and Pat Murphy acknowledged that it was his dream to manage the Brewers, that he never though Craig Counsell was going to leave, and then he added some humor to the situation as well.
Keeping it in the family.

The dialogue between Matt Arnold’s son and Pat Murphy was as followed:
Hi this is Tyler
Tyler!
We wanted to know if you wanted to be the manager of the Brewers
Nice, Bro. That’s something I dream about man, I didn’t think Counsell was ever leaving so I’d never thought I’d have that shot. I’d love to do that. Tell your dad to go out in the garage and get the wheelbarrow.

For all the talk of Pat Murphy’s personality this video certainly showcased what to expect from him. He knew to be serious at first but also made a joke and kept things lighthearted. The next three years of his contract with the Brew Crew should certainly be entertaining.
