It was reported earlier today that the Milwaukee Brewers have called up outfielder Sal Frelick from Triple-A. In a corresponding move, Raimel Tapia was designated for his assignment. Frelick got the news last night from Nashville Sounds manager Rick Sweet in front of his teammates.
Sal Frelick Finds Out He Is Being Called Up by the Milwaukee Brewers

Rick Sweet has been around the game of baseball for a long time. He had a short Major League career himself, playing for the San Diego Padres, New York Mets, and Seattle Mariners from 1978-1983.
For the majority of his career in baseball, he has been a minor league manager, and has led the Brewers’ Triple-A affiliate since 2014. Over his years as a manager, he has delivered the good news of a Major League call up to dozens, maybe hundreds, of players.
A player’s first call up to the Majors is a special moment, and Sweet made sure that Frelick got the news in a unique and fun way:
Can confirm: Sal is OK to play… in the Bigs ‼️

Frelick, who missed weeks of the season with a thumb injury, has been hitting well since coming off of the IL. Overall, he is hitting .247/.333/.342 with two home runs and 18 RBI with the Sounds this year.
Last season, Frelick shot up from High-A to Double-A to Triple-A, and hit .331/.403/.480 with 11 home runs and 59 RBI. He also stole 24 bases.
The Brewers have been relying heavily on their rookies so far this season, and hopefully Frelick can continue to hit on the Major League level. The offense could really use a hot bat.
