The Milwaukee Brewers are currently in the process of introducing the next wave of talent that fans will see for years to come. Guys like Garrett Mitchell, Sal Frelick, Joey Wiemer, Brice Turang, and Abner Uribe have all made their MLB debuts and graduated out of prospect status. This year rookies Jackson Chourio, DL Hall, Joey Ortiz, Jeferson Quero, Tyler Black, and Robert Gasser all are expected to figure into the equation.
Two Milwaukee Brewers players made the projected MLB All-Rookie team.
Through means of projected WAR from Steamer projections on Fangraphs two Brewers players made Major League Baseball’s projected All-Rookie team. Jackson Chourio made it as an outfielder and DL Hall as a starting pitcher. Chourio has not yet made his MLB debut whereas Hall has big league appearances in both 2022 and 2023, but he still has his rookie status intact due to not accumulating a lot of MLB service time.
How are Jackson Chourio and DL Hall projected to perform in 2024?
Steamer projects that Chourio will have a 1.4 WAR in 2024 and slash .253/.305/.415. This projection model has him hitting 16 home runs, collecting 62 RBI, and stealing 16 bases. On the other hand Hall has a projected 2.3 WAR. He accomplishes this by throwing 125 innings (18 GS, 42 appearances), having a 3.62 ERA, and a 10.86 K:9 ratio.
Which other rookies are projected to make the All-Rookie team?
At starting pitcher two players are projected to have a higher WAR than Hall. Both are established players from overseas in Yoshinobu Yamamoto of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Shota Imanaga of the Chicago Cubs. Joining Chourio in the outfield is Jung Hoo Lee of the San Francisco Giants and Evan Carter of the Texas Rangers.
