The Milwaukee Brewers have used an all hands on deck approach this season and a lot of different position players have had opportunities with them in the big leagues. They do also have some good players in the high levels of the minor leagues who could be called up at any time. Unfortunately for one the status of his season is currently in limbo and this may prevent him for another big league opportunity.
Milwaukee Brewers player Keston Hiura has right elbow discomfort
According to a report from Adam McCalvy, Keston Hiura has been absent from the Triple-A Nashville Sounds lineup the past few days due to right elbow discomfort. He is undergoing more testing and no time table has been given on when he may return.
This elbow injury is now the second time Keston Hiura has been injured this season. He sustained a knee injury in early May that cost him six weeks of game action. Despite missing quite a bit of time he still has 23 home runs, 79 RBI, and a .960 OPS this season.
With just a three weeks remaining in the 2023 season there is a real possibility this elbow issue may prevent Keston Hiura from earning a big league chance this year. He has played well enough to be in discussions surrounding a promotion, but if he can’t continue to play then he will never get that opportunity.
