I went to my first Milwaukee Brewers game of the season on Saturday, June 17. I noticed some changes at American Family Field, both good and bad (including the name change).
The Brewers were playing against the first-place Pittsburgh Pirates on a beautiful day in Milwaukee. As I walked around and enjoyed the game, I took notes and images to capture the atmosphere.
What To Expect From a Brewers Game at American Family Field
Tailgating Is HUGE for Milwaukee Brewers Fans
In Wisconsin, tailgating is a popular tradition when it comes to sports. Unlike other stadiums across the country, Wisconsinites have their unique way of doing it, with many people paying for parking and tailgating without attending the game. From grilling to buffet-style feasts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. With live music, DJs, and even cornhole tournaments, plenty of entertainment keeps you engaged. In Wisconsin, tailgating and beer drinking are taken seriously, making it an experience worth trying.
Inside American Family Field
There’s a lot to see and explore when you’re inside American Family Field. Various food and drink options are available throughout the stadium, including self-checkout beer coolers and great Bloody Mary stands. If you’re bringing kids, there are plenty of food choices and activities for them. And if you’re looking for Brewers gear, the multiple team stores at different stadium levels have you covered.
The Game
The Brewers won the game 5-0 with an impressive offense and solid defense. The game coincided with Indiana Jones theme day, which featured many enjoyable and amusing activities. The Brewers offered all fans free Joey Wiemer mullet haircuts, resulting in over 50 mullets being given out. The Sausage Race was a highlight of the day, though four sausages fell at the finish line.
Attending a Milwaukee Brewers baseball game is a highly enjoyable experience with many activities for adults and children. The Brewers also provided great entertainment before, during, and after the game. It should be added to your bucket list if you have yet to visit the stadium.
