The Milwaukee Brewers appear to be taking one of their star players to an arbitration hearing for the second consecutive season. Last winter Corbin Burnes relationship with the organization was ruined as a result of this process. This year elite closer Devin Williams and the team have been unable to come to terms on a contract.

Star Milwaukee Brewers closer Devin Williams appears to be heading to an arbitration hearing.
Brewers beat reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Curt Hogg indicated that Williams and Milwaukee have been unable to come to a salary agreement for the 2024 season. MLB Trade Rumors had Williams’ projected salary at $6.5 million. Mark Feinsand reported that Williams filed for $7.3 million.
The Brewers and Devin Williams have not yet come to an agreement and appear to be headed toward exchanging salary figures, according to sources. Williams, the two-time NL reliever of the year, may end up going to arbitration a year after Corbin Burnes did.

Williams, who is entering his second year of arbitration, is looking for a nice pay increase when compared to a season ago when he made $3.35 million. For reference his former teammate Josh Hader made $6.7 million during his second year of arbitration.
Arbitration hearings for players that could not come to terms with their respective ball clubs typically start taking place towards the end of January and conclude by the middle of February. Both the Brewers and Williams will have representatives present to plead their case and Williams 2024 salary will be determined afterwards.

A few hours after this report out Devin Williams and the Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a two year contract. His 2024 salary will be $7.25 million and his 2025 salary $10.5 million with $1M in escalators and a $250k buyout.
