The Milwaukee Brewers offense has been near the bottom of the league in nearly every statistic. Fans have been wondering when the team was going to shake things up to try and increase offensive production. The team has recalled Brice Turang and optioned Luis Urías to Triple-A Nashville.

Brice Turang Could Provide a Spark for the Milwaukee Brewers
Brice Turang was in a huge slump offensively before being sent down. He started the year as the Milwaukee Brewers’ opening-day second baseman. However, a hot start turned into a huge offensive slump and Turang was sent down. However, he has been nothing short of great for the Nashville Sounds.
Since being sent down on June 7th, Turang is hitting .298 and has hit three home runs. His OPS in 15 games was .926. Meanwhile, Luis Urías has struggled ever since returning from injury. With an already struggling offense, the Brewers are taking a shot on Turang’s hot bat over Urías’ struggling one.
The Brewers are half a game out of first in the NL Central as the All-Star break approaches soon.
Luis Urías’ Struggles
Luis Urías has not been the player he was in 2021. He was plagued with injuries last year and suffered an injury on opening day this season. He does not have the same pop in his bat that he once did. The Milwaukee Brewers have enough struggling bats as is and it’s time to shake things up.
In 2022 Urías is slashing .145/.299/.236. Needless to say, those numbers have not been what the Brewers expected from him when he came back from his opening-day injury. The move should not cost the Brewers anything defensively as Turang can play second base and is tremendous on defense as is. The Move likely means that Anderson will play more than right field since Urías was the other option at third.
