On Tuesday night the Milwaukee Brewers erased a four run deficit against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The final score ended up being 7-5 and the victory was much needed by the Brew Crew as they got blown out by eight runs a night prior.
Milwaukee Brewers erase a four run deficit against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Early on the Brewers put themselves in a hole as they found themselves down by four entering the bottom of the second inning. They managed to get one run back in the bottom of the second and then two more courtesy of a Jesse Winker long ball in the fourth.
In the sixth inning the Diamondbacks scored their fifth and final run of the game. Three separate infield hits led to this run and putting the ball in play worked out well for Arizona. An inning later that same luck/fortune fell upon the Brewers.
To begin the seventh Luis Urias drew a walk. The next batter, Blake Perkins, hit a 2-2 chopper at the second basemen Ketel Marte who initially looked over at second base. Between this slight hesitation and the hustle/speed of Perkins he ended up being safe at first base.
Perkin’s hustle was evidenced again a play later when he beat a throw to second base in order to avoid the force out. This loaded the bases with nobody out. From there Christian Yelich had a RBI ground out, William Contreras blasted a go ahead two RBI double, and then a hustle fielder’s choice from Willy Adames scored the seventh run.

After all the scoring from the Brewers Joel Payamps and Devin Williams shut down the Diamondbacks in the eighth and ninth innings. A nifty game ending double play initiated by Owen Miller at first base put the icing on the cake to seal the victory.
This come from behind win marked the largest of the season for Milwaukee. It also is their second come from behind victory in the last three days as they overcame a two run deficit against the Pirates on Sunday.
Milwaukee and Arizona will conclude their three game series on Wednesday with the first pitch scheduled for 1:10 PM CT.
