Mike Pettine, former Packers defensive coordinator has landed a job just 200 miles south of Green Bay with the rival Chicago Bears.
The #Bears have hired former #Packers defensive coordinator Mike Pettine as their new senior defensive assistant, sources say. From Green Bay to Chicago, Pettine switches sides in the NFC North and will serve as a veteran sounding board for new DC Sean Desai.

That’s right, Pettine will be taking on a job opportunity with a hated rival as the senior defensive assistant for the Bears. Pettine will be working alongside newly hired Bears Defensive Coordinator Sean Desai.
Pettine spent the last three seasons as the Packers defensive coordinator. While the Packers defense showed improvement during these seasons, Pettine was not retained by Green Bay for number of reasons. Some even blame the loss in the NFC title game on Pettine’s inability to properly coordinate the Packers defense.
Pettine received a ton of criticism throughout his time in Green Bay. Can the former Packers defensive coordinator help the hated Chicago Bears to an improved defense in 2021?
