Mike Budenholzer was dismissed by the Milwaukee Bucks a couple of weeks ago. While most people considered it a necessary move, Budenholzer has had a lot of success with the Bucks. The team had the best regular season record in the league and has been one of the premiere franchises in the NBA for the past couple of years. It comes as no surprise that Budenholzer is drawing interest from the Pheonix Suns.
Phoenix Suns are formulating a list of head coaching candidates that includes assistant Kevin Young, Mike Budenholzer and Nick Nurse, league sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport.

Mike Budenholzer To The Pheonix Suns?
This would be a very ironic hire. Budenholzer was the coach of the Bucks when they beat the Suns in the 2019 NBA Finals. The Suns recently fired Monty Williams after they got blown out in game 6 against the Denver Nuggets. The roster has talent. Kevin Durant is a generational talent and Devin Booker gives the Suns some offensive firepower. Chris Paul and Deandre Ayton give the team assets to try and retool the roster. If Budenholzer got the job, he would be going from one loaded roster to another.

Will He Jump Right Back Into Coaching?
Often coaches will take a year off in between jobs. However, the Suns’ job could be too tantalizing to pass up. The Western Conference is wide open right now. The Warriors are in flux and the Lakers are getting older. If the Suns can fill out the roster the team could be a serious contender for the title. There will be questions about Budenholzer. The Bucks didn’t fire him for no reason and the five-game series loss to the Heat will be questioned. There is also no shortage of quality candidates out there. However, very few of them have a championship under their belt and Budenholzer does.
Mike Budenholzer to the Pheonix Suns would be a little funny as a Bucks fan. Ultimately, the feeling around the Bucks organization is that it was time for a change but everyone wishes the coach luck in his future endeavors.
