The Green Bay Packers had a scary moment Sunday afternoon during their 38-20 blowout of the Chicago Bears. Star running back Aaron Jones left with a hamstring injury after scoring a touchdown in the third quarter. Head coach Matt LaFleur provided a brief update on Jones’ status Monday.
The Packers pulled Jones for the rest of the game Sunday after he grabbed at his leg. Jones said after the game he felt like he could have played again in the game if the Packers needed him. However, it was unclear how severe the injury was until the medical staff could take a better look.
Green Bay Packers give a brief update on Aaron Jones’ injury
According to Matt Schneidman of The Athletic, LaFleur said Monday afternoon the Packers are still evaluating Jones’ injury. LaFleur said it was a good sign Jones was able to jog off the field.
Matt LaFleur says they’re still evaluating Aaron Jones’ hamstring but that it was encouraging seeing him jogging off the field. Also mentioned how Packers had luxury of not having to use Jones after the injury.

We’ll have a better idea of where Jones stands for the Packers Week 2 contest against the Atlanta Falcons when the week’s first injury report is released Wednesday afternoon.
Jones isn’t the only offensive player fans will want to check out for hamstring issues on the injury report this week. Wide receiver Christian Watson missed Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury. But the Packers were blessed his teammate Romeo Doubs was able to recover from his hamstring injury in time to dominate the Bears’ secondary.
