Aaron Jones and the Green Bay Packers started their 2023 campaign on the right foot. A 38-20 thrashing of the Chicago Bears was the most significant storyline out of Green Bay today. However, there were a few other storylines to watch that will impact the rest of the season. One of those was Aaron Jones tweaking his hamstring on a long touchdown reception.

After scoring a touchdown in the third quarter against the Chicago Bears, Packers running back Aaron Jones left the game after feeling tightness in his right hamstring. Here is a video of his touchdown, at the end you can see him grabbing his hamstring:

Following the game, Jones released a statement about his injury. According to Ryan Wood of USA Today:
Aaron Jones says he felt his hamstring bite at end of his touchdown catch. He pulled his hamstring before.
He says it was nowhere near that bad. Jones didn’t return, but he says score had lot to do with it. He could have if needed, he says.
Jones finished the game with 9 carries for 41 yards and 1 touchdown as well as 2 receptions for 86 yards and 1 touchdown. The Packers’ offense is clearly night and day better with Jones on the field. It is certainly good news to hear he could have returned if the Packers needed him to. Jones will be a name to watch this week as the Packers prepare to take on the Falcons at 12:00pm CT on Sunday.
