Lukas Van Ness was drafted 13th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. He is an edge rusher out of Iowa, and Green Bay has big hopes for him heading into this season. Vegas would happen to agree with that because he has the sixth-best odds to win the Defensive Rookie of the Year Award on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Lukas Van Ness’s odds are +1500 to win it. Those are reasonable odds to bet on for him. He had 11.5 tackles for a loss and six sacks during his 2022 collegiate season at Iowa. Green Bay’s defense is supposed to be pretty good this season.

Other than Lukas Van Ness, who else has better odds than him to win the award this season?

Lukas Van Ness‘s NFC Defensive Rookie of the Year Odds

    Will Anderson (DE – HOU)

Will Anderson has the best odds of winning the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award this season. He was drafted third overall by the Houston Texans out of Alabama. Anderson is also an EDGE rusher, just like Lukas Van Ness.

Houston traded up from the 12th spot to the third spot with the Arizona Cardinals to draft Will Anderson. He could be the best player on their defense right away, wracking up the sacks.

    Jalen Carter (DT – CHI)

Jalen Carter has the second-best odds to win the 2023 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award on FanDuel Sportsbook. He was drafted ninth overall by the Philadelphia Eagles and traded up one spot with the Chicago Bears. Carter is a defensive tackle out of Georgia, and he has made the news for the wrong reasons.

He does have some red flags about him but he is a tremendous talent. If Jalen Carter is able to stay on the field, he can very well win this award, and Lukas Van Ness won’t have much of a chance to win it.

    Tyree Wilson (DE – LVR)

Tyree Wilson has the third-best odds to win the 2023 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Award on FanDuel Sportsbook. He was the seventh overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders. Wilson was drafted out of Texas Tech and is also an EDGE rusher like Luke Van Ness is.

The strength of the edge rusher in this year’s draft class is something to behold. If the Raiders are going to be better defensively, it is going to be because of him and also playing on the other side of Maxx Crosby.
