A Green Bay Packers rival had an insane start to their practice week on Wednesday, including releasing their QB2. During his pre-practice press conference, Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields gave an explosive answer about his play and the coaching staff.

A Green Bay Packers rival has a dramatic Wednesday

Fields said coaching was one of the main reasons he was playing robotic for the Bears this season. He said he planned to let loose in Week 3 against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Update: #Bears QB Justin Fields was asked for an explanation to why he's been playing, "Robotic", and he said.

Fields’ comments must have spread around Halas Hall like wildfire. Fields circled back to reporters after practice to clarify his comments and make his coaches look better. According to Courtney Cronin with ESPN,  Fields chose to accept the full blame for his shortcomings to start the year:

“I’m not blaming anything on the coaches. I’m never going to blame anything on coaches, never going to blame anything on my teammates. I will take every – whatever happens in a game – I will take all the blame. I don’t care if it’s a dropped pass and it should have been a pass. Put it on me.”

Justin Fields spoke for 1 minute in the locker room to clarify his comments made earlier today: "I’m not blaming anything on the coaches. I’m never going to blame anything on coaches, never going to blame anything on my teammates. I will take every – whatever happens in a game -…

In between the quarterback saga, it was learned that Bears defensive coordinator Alan Williams resigned Wednesday morning.

Williams wasn’t the member of the Bears staff set to leave Chicago. According to Field Yates of ESPN, the Bears released quarterback Nathan Peterman.

The timing of the release is odd after Fields made strong comments about how the coaching staff was trying to make him play the position in a way that didn’t feel natural to him.

The Bears cleared the roster up to allow Nathan Bagent to become QB2. Or the Bears might add another veteran. But Peterman’s release is another major storyline in a hectic day at Halas Hall.
