After the Green Bay Packers victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, all the attention was on Jordan Love, and for good reason. The quarterback had an amazing game against the defending champs. However, the offense had a great balance of run and pass. On the ground, AJ Dillon did the majority of the work. After the game, Love had some high praise for Dillon.
Jordan Love on AJ Dillon, who averaged 4.1 yards per carry on 18 rushes:
“He’s just a warrior.”

Jordan Love Calls AJ Dillon A Warrior
Dillon’s stat line won’t jump off the page. He had 18 carries for 73 yards and didn’t find the end zone. However, his 4.1 yards per carry were key to the Packers’ victory. All night, Dillon was pounding the Chiefs’ defense for extra yards and bulldozing defenders. “He’s just a warrior,” Love said after the game. As the calendar flips to December, it is Dillon’s time to shine. If he can continue to have performances like this and keep the offense balanced, this could be a scary unit to play.
Second Contract Incoming?
At the beginning of the year, it seemed like the Packers might want to move on from Dillon at the end of the season. His play on the field is making a lot of people call for Dillon to be re-signed at the end of the season. While running back value is hotly debated in the NFL right now, keeping continuity, especially with this young team might be important. Regardless of whether the Packers sign him or not, he likely has done enough to earn a second contract from somebody which is great to see.
Jordan Love and many others were impressed with AJ Dillon tonight. With Aaron Jones out, he has really stepped into the role of the lead back which has to make head coach Matt LaFleur happy.
