Johnny Davis has announced that his much anticipated announcement on whether or not to join the NBA will come on Thursday afternoon.
NBA Today
If you are a person who likes to speculate or read between the lines. Johnny is making his announcement on ESPN’s show “NBA Today”. It seems to me that Johnny will be headed to the NBA like most of us expected. If Davis does move on from Madison he will be joining Ohio State’s E.J. Lidell, Purdue guard Sasha Stavinavich, and Michigan state wing Gabe Brown who all have announced their deductions to go pro recently from the Big Ten.
#Badgers sophomore Johnny Davis will announce on Thursday afternoon whether he's staying at UW or headed to the NBA. That announcement will be made on ESPN's NBA Today — which airs from 2-3 p.m. — if you're the reading-between-the-lines type.

Mock Draft
ESPN’s latest mock draft has Johnny Davis going pick nine to the Washington Wizards. While I have also seen many mock drafts with Davis going number six to Sacramento. Some even as high as the fifth pick to Indiana. Regardless of where he goes, Johnny Davis is a for sure lottery pick and most likely in the top 10.
Johnny’s Potential
Even with a subpar postseason compared to his standards, the potential for Johnny at the NBA level is through the roof and has GM’s in need of wing depth salivating at the chance to draft Johnny. Wings have dominated the NBA for the last few years. Everyone wants guys that can play SG,SF, or even PF. Davis fits the mold with his athleticism, his ability to score at all three levels and his potential on the defensive end. Reminds me a lot of Demar Derozan. If Johnny can really improve his 3-point shooting, he will have a fantastic NBA career.
It’s somber to see such a beloved Badger head off to the NBA after just his sophomore year. Again, I personally am so grateful that Johnny Davis chose to stay home and proved you can go pro no matter where you play. Johnny has even already started to help with recruitment. Number one will be in Kohl Center rafters one day.
