Green Bay Packers fans were furious with defensive coordinator Joe Barry after losing to the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.

The Packers’ opportunistic defense returned a Saquon Barkley fumble on the Giants’ penultimate drive to set up a go-ahead Green Bay touchdown with 1:33 left in the game. But they failed to keep backup quarterback Tommy DeVito from leading the Giants down the field on their final drive to score a game-winning field goal as time expired.

Barry’s shorthanded secondary gave up a 32-yard yard reception that put the Giants in field goal range. Head coach Matt LaFleur said after the game he was disappointed in how the Packers gave up leverage to the Giants and played off the ball in the two-minute defense.

The idiotic play calls, losing game strategy and lack of team motivation are reasons the defense should have not slipped to this state. I have been saying this for some time now: Barry needs a career change. But, a Defensive coordinator change now is too late for this season. LaFluer wears this loss and all of the preceding drops. If there is going to be a head coach replacement, go for quality instead of bargain. It hasn’t worked out too good.
