Green Bay Packers analyst Larry McCarren broke down on Tuesday on the Rock Report who stood out in Week 2, even though they lost 25-24 against the Atlanta Falcons on the road. Green Bay had a 24-12 lead entering the fourth quarter before not scoring a point on the final three drives of the football game.
This is a young football team that is still trying to learn who they are as the season progresses. Speaking of young players on the roster, there were two players on this roster who stood out to McCarren and they are both second-year players.
Packers Offensive Lineman Zach Tom Stood Out Him
Zach Tom is a second-year player out of Wake Forest. He was playing right tackle in this matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Tom was lined up against future hall of fame Calais Campbell throughout the football game at right tackle. On the 9-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love to Jayden Reed, Tom made an excellent block on Campbell.
Larry McCarren said about Tom’s performance on that touchdown pass:
“Campbell begins the play pointing north, then he ends the play pointing south and on his back. When it comes to blocking, that is some good you know what.”

Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Zach Tom had Calais Campbell in his bag for most of the game. Tom’s versatility proved large with some injuries on the offensive line this past weekend and he can be trusted moving forward against other solid defensive linemen.
Linebacker Quay Walker also stood out for the Second Consecutive Week After Being in Concussion Protocol
For the second consecutive week, linebacker Quay Walker stood out for the Green Bay Packers. In Week 1 against the Chicago Bears, he had a pick-six. In the second week against the Atlanta Falcons, Walker never left his running lanes, especially when it came to keeping an eye on running back Bijan Robinson, who some claim is already one of the best in the league as a rookie.
He made some thunderous tackles against Robinson, as the Rock Report shows on the film with Walker. He finished the game with a total of 17 tackles against the Falcons and his numbers will only continue to go up. Quay Walker is going to keep on impressing at the linebacker position for this football team.
