The Green Bay Packers have been criticized constantly over the last few years over their recent decisions to move on from key players. Aaron Jones and David Bakhtiari were let go this off-season and, of course, that came with more criticism.
The time, however, one former NFL offensive player of the year had some choice words about the Packers’ recent moves.
The Green Bay Packers Ridiculously Criticized By One Former NFL Offensive Player Of The Year
When Todd Gurely waas asked his opinion about the Packers recent moves, he had some interesting things to say:
“Other than Jordan Love, Aaron Jones was literally their best and only offensive option.”

Gurely’s statement that Aaron Jones was their “best and only offensive option” is unequivocally wrong.
Jones certainly embodied the heart and soul of this team and always delivered when it counted. Despite this, it is not accurate to say that he is the team’s only offensive weapon.
As a result of an injury that held him back for most of last season, Jones had one of his least productive seasons, rushing for 656 yards and two touchdowns in 11 games. His snaps and workload need to be managed at this point in his career.
The Packers’ had valuable offensive weapons all over the field last year including Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks. They likely will continue to be so this season as well.
It is risky to sign a running back to a long-term contract like the Packers did with Jacobs. It is important to acknowledge that, but it is also important not to misrepresent the facts like Gurley did.
