Green Bay Packers Run: Matt LaFleur Has Team Flying

Green Bay is buzzing right now following a late Packers run into the postseason with their final regular season win over the Chicago Bears capping a run of seven wins from ten to see head coach Matt LaFleur’s side ease into the playoffs and have done so in historical fashion.

    Impressive Packers Run Into Playoffs

The Packers secured the seventh and final place in the NFC Conference to set up a Wild Card playoff with the Dallas Cowboys, and fans of Green Bay who want to bet on their team to run deep into the postseason can make the most of any wager by using this Caesars Sportsbook promo code to sweeten the deal.

The Packers run helped them finish the regular season with a 9-8 record that seemed like a distant dream when they sat at 3-6 following their NFL Game Week Ten loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, but nonetheless, LaFleur’s side has battled back excellently to extend their season.

This achievement is, of course, all the more impressive when you consider they had to contend with the loss of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the offseason.

In doing so, they have become the youngest NFL team to make it to the playoffs since the season went to a 16-game schedule in 1978 with a roster that has a median age of just 25.13 years.

The loss of Rodgers will have been seen by many Packers fans as one they could ill afford to see occur, but arguably, they’ve made it this far with perhaps the ideal long-term replacement in the form of Jordan Love, who has bided his time to take the starting berth.

Love was understandably very happy to see Green Bay steer their way to the playoffs and stated after the win over the Bears,

“You want to play in the big-time games when the pressure is on and be able to go showcase what you’re made of,”

“Being on the bench those three years and being behind Aaron [Rodgers] and just wanting to be out there so bad, now that I have my opportunity, just make the most of it. Take it and run with it […] It’s definitely something that I was waiting for and dreaming of and it’s definitely everything that it’s living up to be.”

Green Bay faces one hell of a fight when they take on the Cowboys, not least because Dallas has won every one of their last 16 home games.

The Packers don’t have a great deal of experience among their playing staff, with 27 of the 53 members of LaFleur’s roster being in either their first or second seasons with the team, but nonetheless, Green Bay’s coach feels that his team is ready to take on the next challenge and does not need to reinvent the wheel in his playoff preparations,

“I think it’s going to be the same mindset that we’ve had,”

“You try to preach that and talk about it all the time, but I think there’s another thing with actually going and doing it.

“So, I think it’s going to be just a great experience for our guys to go through this. And we’re looking forward to the challenge. We got a great opponent at their home stadium, and they’re playing some really good football right now.” LaFleur added.
