The Green Bay Packers are looking to shock the NFL by being a real Super Bowl contender after just one full season with Jordan Love. The offense was a spectacle to watch during the second half of the 2023 season. Jordan Love started performing like a seasoned All-Pro and the young weapons around him stepped up when it mattered most.
As we head into the 2024 season, the Packers have a real possibility of picking up where they left off. That could include one starter who has had an up and down time in Green Bay so far.
The Green Bay Packers Have One Starter Having The Best Off-Season Of His Career So Far
According to Ryan Wood of USA Today:
Ben Sirmans on AJ Dillon:
“This is as hard as I’ve seen him work in the offseason.”
Green Bay Could Have An Elite Running Back Room
During the offseason, the Packers parted ways with Aaron Jones (Vikings) and signed Josh Jacobs from the Raiders.
Adam Stenavich, Green Bay’s offensive coordinator, believes the third-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft could play a significant role in 2024.
“I would like to get [MarShawn Lloyd] out there as much as possible,” Stenavich said via Eric Edholm of NFL.com. “It’ll be nice to get him the ball in space and just see what he can do because I think he’s gonna add a good explosive element to the offense.”
After rushing for 820 yards and nine touchdowns at USC in 2023, Lloyd was ranked first among running backs by NFL Network draft expert Daniel Jeremiah. At the NFL Scouting Combine, he ran a 4.38 40-yard dash.
Lloyd’s lack of availability has been his biggest concern. He suffered injuries in each of his four years of college at both South Carolina and USC.
Despite his high expectations, Lloyd may not be able to outsnap Jacobs, who just signed a four-year, $48 million contract.
It was a down season for Jacobs last year when he rushed for 805 yards and six touchdowns. A league-leading 1,653 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2022 likely earned him a contract as an All-Pro running back from Green Bay.
