Green Bay Packers special teams coach Rich Bisaccia found a gem in Keisean Nixon last season. The kick returner earned All-Pro honors last season but so far has had a disappointing one in the return game. Bisaccia said today that he is preaching patience to Nixon.
#Packers ST coordinator Rich Bisaccia on preaching patience to Keisean Nixon as he continues to not get chances as a KR: "We knew going into the season it was going to be difficult to get some clean looks, as we did last year."
Bisaccia says Nixon's patience is increasing.

Green Bay Packers Rich Bisaccia Preaching Patience To Keisean Nixon
The secret is out on Nixon. Teams are making sure that the returner does not get an easy one against them. In watching the games, Nixon has definitely been forcing the issue trying to make a big play. While this is admirable, it has hurt the team in certain cases. Bisaccia wants to see more patience. “We knew going into the season it was going to be difficult to get some clean looks, as we did last year,” Bisaccia said on Thursday. He is seeing progress with Nixon and hopefully, the patience will pay off soon. It would be great to see Nixon take one to the house again in 2023.
What Do The Packers Do Long Term?
Nixon signed a one-year deal in the offseason. They pretty much had to bring him back after the season he had. The Packers have been searching for an impact player on special teams and they finally seemed to find it in Nixon. After this year, it will be interesting to see what the team decides. Nixon has struggled on defense in his nickel spot and has not been as dynamic in the return game. Some of this is the team’s kicking away from him and some of it is the new rules on kickoffs. There is still plenty of season left but as of right now, Nixon is having a down year.
Bisaccia is hoping that Nixon can awaken in the second half of the season. The Green Bay Packers need him to make an impact in some way in order to try and help the struggling offense.
