The Green Bay Packers are heading into the 2024 off-season with hopes of once again contending for an NFC North title.  The Lions ran away with the division last year and won their first divisional title in 30 years.  However, by season’s end the Packers showed they could compete with any NFC playoff caliber team.

While the Packers and Lions look to build off a successful 2023 season, another NFC North rival Is losing one of their best play makers.

Rex Villas of Wisconsin Sports Heroics first reported on this situation for out webiste:

One of the Green Bay Packers chief rivals just made a big move in the 2024 NFL offseason, with the Chicago Bears letting go of veteran defensive back Eddie Jackson and offensive lineman Cody Whitehair, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

The #Bears have released veterans S Eddie Jackson and OL Cody Whitehair, who had combined salary cap numbers of roughly $32M. Even more cap space for Chicago.

Jackson, who signed a four-year deal with the Bears back in 2020 that was worth $58.4 million has become one of the many players looking for a job before the start of the 2024 NFL campaign several months from now. The 30-year-old Jackson is quite familiar with Green Bay Packers fans, as he has played his entire NFL career so far in the NFC North.

Is there a chance that Jackson continue playing in the same division but with a different team? That remains to be seen, but he should at least generate some interest among teams looking to add experience and depth to their secondary.

Packers Fans React To Chicago Losing Eddie Jackson

When Packers fans found out that Jackson would no longer be in Chicago, of course they reacted accordingly on social media:

The only way Jackson is electric today is if he stuck his finger in a light socket.
