The Green Bay Packers have committed to a completely different defensive regimen this off-season. Green Bay will head into the 2024 season with a new defensive coordinator, defensive line coach, defensive passing game coordinator, and an additional defensive assistant.
Now the Packers have restructured a contract on the defensive side of the ball.
Green Bay Packers Create Substantial Salary Cap Room By Restructuring Contract
Tyler Schisel of Wisconsin Sports Heroics first reported the news for our site:
Gary’s contract will undergo a restructuring that will free up $4.781 million of cap space. However, it will also result in a cap charge of $1.59 million per season from 2025-2027.
He had an impressive performance in 2023, making 44 tackles, nine sacks, 22 quarterback hits, and two forced fumbles in 17 games.
Gary signed a four-year 96 million dollar deal back in October 2023. In his career, he would have 179 tackles and 31.5 sacks.
