There have been numerous former Green Bay Packers who have signed with the New York Jets this season. Before Aaron Rodgers was even traded, Allen Lazard signed a four-year $44 million contract with the understanding that he would get to play with Rodgers again. Since the trade, Randall Cobb, Tim Boyle, and Billy Turner have also signed with New York. Those players saw Rodgers in his latter days with Green Bay and are able to see how different he is now with the Jets. One of those players, Rodgers’ best friend Randall Cobb, went into detail of how much happier Rodgers is now.

Current and former Green Bay Packers players took over the Kentucky Derby red carpet on May 6, 2023. Jimmy Graham, David Bakhtiari, Aaron Rodgers, Davante Adams, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb were among the celebrities at the Kentucky Derby red carpet on May 6, 2023.

Over the weekend, several former Packers players, along with current Green Bay left tackle David Bakhtiari, got together to take in the 149th Kentucky Derby. During the festivities, Cobb sat down with Kay Adams of Up and Adams and was asked about how Rodgers appears different this year as opposed to his final seasons in Green Bay. Cobb responded:

“I think this whole change of scenery has been great for him, it’s reenergized him. I went up to the facility a couple of days ago to sign and just to see him happy and being himself, and the old Aaron Rodgers that I remember, he’s himself again. I look forward to seeing him continue to grow and find himself.”

This is not to say that Rodgers does not appreciate the time he spent with the Packers. He has been pretty vocal all throughout the process of his appreciation for the organization and the fans. It is not unusual for any person to feel a renewed sense of energy of love of for their job when they start working for a new company. No doubt, it is the same way for professional athletes.

Aaron Rodgers gave 18 years to the Packers organization. There were plenty of great moments that far outnumbered the bad ones. At the end of the day, fans should be happy for Rodgers the human being that he has a newfound energy.

Meanwhile, we’re going to enjoy the energy our whole young exciting football team brings.

They talk about how much happier Aaron seems to be about going to the Jets. As a fan, you don’t know how much happier I am that your drama is gone. I’ve been a Packers fans before Rodgers was born and have never seen this much drama. Aaron is all about Aaron and what HE wants!!!! Ask his family!

Why should anybody care about Rodgers the “human” since he obviously didn’t care about Green Bay the last few years?

If you want to ruin your legacy with the Packers, send your minions out to say how happy you are to be gone.

The Jets will learn exactly who Rodgers is when he dumps on them for his failures as soon as he has to play against a good defense.

Dude pouts, gets the Packers to give him whatever he wants (including millions of dollars), and he still phones it in for his last season in Green Bay!

I have been a die-hard NY Jets fan since their inception into the old AFL. I did not want Aaron Rodgers to become a Jet, considering the drama, his age, and the fact that he may only play one more season. However, since he is a member of the Jets organization, I will root and hope for the best.
