Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week. Love completed 84.4% of his passes for 316 yards passing and two touchdowns in a 17-9 win over the Chicago Bears.
His clutch play over the last two weeks is one of the reasons why the Packers are in the playoffs with a 9-8 record. Jordan Love threw two touchdown passes in the game against Chicago and they were both to rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks from 10 yards out and 12 yards out.
Love was also the Offensive Player of the Week when the Green Bay Packers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 33-10 back in Week 17. Jordan Love has proved himself big time recently and has been growing up in a hurry for Green Bay.
The postseason will be a different animal for him. It would be something if he outplayed Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round. Love will forever be a hero if they upset the Cowboys this week. He also, with him winning this award once again in back-to-back weeks, Aaron Rodgers won this several times when he was with the Packers.
Speaking of back-to-backs, Jordan Love is only the second player this season in either the NFC or the AFC to win Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks. The only other player to do it was Cleveland Browns punter Dustin Hopkins in Weeks 6 and 7.
A quarterback hasn’t won it back-to-back weeks since last season. There were two instances it happened. Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles did in weeks 12 and 13 in 2022. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen did it in weeks 5 and 6. Jordan Love being mentioned with them is a good thing.
Green Bay Packers Quarterback Jordan Love Had a Solid First Season As the Full-Time Starter After All
Love for the first 10 weeks of the season was up-and-down as the starter for the Packers. They started the season 2-5 and he had his struggles. Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers was his turning point of the season and has not looked back ever since. Jordan Love finished the season by completing 64.2% of his passes for 4,159 yards passing, 32 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
Love did not have a single 1,000-yard receiver this season and has grown with many different receiving options throughout the course of the regular season. He also rushed for 247 yards on 50 carries and four touchdowns, along with averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
Many people thought Love was not going to do well when Aaron Rodgers was traded away to the New York Jets this season. Well, Love proved to be the next franchise quarterback for the Packers moving forward.
