Just recently, the Green Bay Packers suffered a brutal loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the playoffs, ending their season in the process. Even if that’s the case, the team went on to exceed expectations this year.
For a team headlined by Jordan Love at quarterback and coached by Matt LaFleur, everything went well this season, as seen by a 9-8 record and a seventh seed finish in the NFC. And with their most recent loss to the 49ers, the Packers have locked in their pick for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
Last year, though, the team received the 15th pick after missing the postseason with an 8-9 record. That pick improved to 13th after Aaron Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, and was used to select Lukas Van Ness in last year’s draft.
Green Bay Packers to Receive the 25th Pick in the 2024 NFL Draft
The Packers are set to hold the 25th pick in the upcoming draft this year after Saturday night’s loss to the 49ers. This is one of the eight picks Green Bay is slated to have, which includes five of their own and three acquired from various trades.
The most previous draft saw Dalton Kincaid picked at the 25th spot by the Buffalo Bills. For the Packers, though, the last time they held this pick in the draft was in 2004 when they selected Ahmad Carroll, which turned to be one of the franchise’s biggest busts.
After Matt LaFleur’s team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will go at 26th. Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals will receive the Houston Texans’ slot at number 27 and the Bills go after them at 28th.
Packers fans will have to wait for the draft’s first round on April 25 to see who the team will go for. The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held in Detroit.
