Despite the heartbreaking end to their season, the Green Bay Packers managed to surprise everyone this year with the run they had in the playoffs. And if Elgton Jenkins is to be believed, Rasheed Walker is bound to have a big leap next season.
At the start of last season, David Bakhtiari found himself with a large contract but struggled against injuries. This gave Walker an opportunity to shine and prove his worth on the field for Green Bay.

And Walker did just that by stepping up in a big way after Bakhtiari missed a lot of time this season. He got his first start in Week 2 and played left tackle until Yosh Nijman took the job in Week 8. And even though he shared that position with the latter from that point onwards, Walker still did a stellar job all throughout the season.
There’s even an argument to be made that his leap was even greater than Jordan Love’s breakout season recently. In any case, there’s no reason for Walker not to be a starter when the next season begins again.
Elgton Jenkins High Praise for Green Bay Packers’ Rasheed Walker
With some years now his his NFL career, Jenkins certainly has seen a lot during his time in the league. Walker, in particular, has earned his awe. According to the two-time Pro Bowler in an article written for the Packers’ official website:
“He’s a dog, man,” Jenkins said. “He’s athletically gifted. The mindset that he comes with on Sunday … it’s very special. He definitely grew a lot from his first couple games to the stretch (run) that we made.”
With the talent Walker has and the pace his career is going, there’s no reason for his career not to shoot upwards fast. Add the improvement Love will take during the offseason, Matt LaFleur’s expertise in coaching, and Green Bay’s projected strong finish, and there’ll be a lot to look forward to next season for Walker.
