However, the Green Bay Packers did suffer some injuries in the first game. Starting running back Aaron Jones, and linebacker Quay Walker were sidelined in Chicago. Jones left the game with a hamstring injury after scoring a touchdown through the air, and on the ground for the Packers in their 38-20 win.

The big story on offense heading into the first game was surrounding Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson. He did not play against the Chicago Bears in Week 1.But, in recent updates, Watson is hopeful that he will be ready to suit up for Week 2, and does not think that being put on the injured reserve list is in question, stating:It definitely hurt me a lot,” Watson said. “Obviously, the amount of work and preparation and time I put into this game this offseason, to not be able to go out in the first one is definitely heartbreaking for me. But I know it’s just part of the game. What happened, happened. I can’t control any of that now, so I’m just doing everything I can to get back out there. When I do, I’ll be ready to go.” Watson said, “As far as I know,” injured reserve is not a consideration. https://open.spotify.com/episode/7IL0kjnXLrNdklJ0G7Q9LD?si=Hah2CsZET2Kqf0rvuL12nAAfter the Week 1 game in Chicago, the second-year wide receiver spoke about his thoughts after watching the Green Bay Packers performance:

Watching the tape back,” Watson said, “watching the game yesterday, I was dying to steal somebody’s pads, steal somebody’s helmet and get out there. I’m excited to get out there and just be a part of it, regardless of what exactly my role is coming back right away. I know what I’m capable of, and I’m hoping that it’s a big part of this thing.”

The Packers could definitely use the second-year wide receiver on offense going forward. Romeo Doubs was able to play in the first game after being listed as questionable before playing the Chicago Bears.

    Christian Watson’s Stats in 2022

Last season, Christian Watson caught 41 passes for 611 yards and had seven total receiving touchdowns for the Green Bay Packers.

Rookie wide receiver Jayden Reed was able to step up, with 48 yards receiving as a starter in his absence.

Packers’ fans will have to wait, and see if Christian Watson is able to return in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons. That would also add an extra piece on offense to help the Packers downfield in weeks to come.

Green Bay Packers’ wide receiver, Christian Watson, is hopeful for a return in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears. Dive deeper into his recovery journey and the team’s updates in our Green Bay Packers News section. Stay informed and support the Pack!
