The Green Bay Packers may be looking to the 2024 season sooner rather than later. After starting the season 2-1 (and one fourth-quarter collapse away from 3-0), the team has lost four of five. If the Packers just a few more games it is going to be near impossible to make a playoff run given the competitiveness of the NFC.
If the Packers do have a top draft pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft, it may be clear now who they plan to target.
Green Bay Packers Brass Were Present At Michigan Vs. Penn State Contest
ESPN Draft Expert Jordan Reid reported that the Packers sent “multiple representatives” to Saturday’s showdown between the two Big 10 schools:
15 NFL teams in attendance for the Michigan/Penn State game:
ATL, BUF, CHI, DEN, GB, HOU, LAC, LAR, MIN, NYG, NYJ, PHI, PIT, SF and TEN
49ers, Bills, Broncos, Chargers, and Packers all have multiple representatives present.
— Jordan Reid (@Jordan_Reid) November 11, 2023
According to A to Z Sports, these are the top prospects from that contest:
- Michigan QB JJ McCarthy
- Michigan RB Blake Corum
- Michigan RB Donovan Edwards
- Michigan S Rod Moore
- Michigan DT Kris Jenkins
- Michigan WR Roman Wilson
- Michigan G Zak Zinter
- Penn State LT Olumuyiwa Fashanu
- Penn State EDGE Chop Robinson
- Penn State CB Kalen King
- Penn State EDGE Adisa Isaac
Given that the Packers rarely use top draft picks on skill position players and they’re not in the market for a quarterback (yet), looking along the offensive and defensive lines makes sense.
There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Bakhtiari’s future in Green Bay. It is even reasonable to think he won’t play another snap for the Packers. Yosh Nijman and Rasheed Walker have alternated at left tackle, but neither has established a dominant position.
It would make sense to add a left tackle of the future with a top five(ish) pick. Additionally, the Packers’ front office has demonstrated their love for investing in elite offensive and defensive line prospects. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Packers snagged Fashanu if he’s available when they’re on the clock. He is widely listed at the best offensive tackle prospect in the entire draft.

You really said Green Bay mostly invests in elite defensive lineman or offensive lineman. Maybe offensive but defensive lineman lmfao. Give me a break we we have no idea who an elite d lineman is. Maybe Clark but to me he is not elite. He has one play per game. Green Bay front office is garbage.
