The Green Bay Packers lost to the New York Giants on Monday night football. It was a very sloppy game with the Packers committing three turnovers and making mistakes in key moments. Even though the team had a chance to win it in the end, the mistakes throughout the game ultimately cost them. Head coach Matt LaFleur thinks the young team learned a valuable lesson in the loss.
Packers coach Matt LaFleur was disappointed in all 3 phases tonight:
“I think our team learned a valuable lesson. You don’t play your best, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing, when you’re playing them, where you’re playing, you’re not going to win the game. pic.twitter.com/yh9iaiU4sN

Green Bay Packers Matt LaFleur On The Loss
The NFL is full of parity. A seemingly easy win on the schedule can turn into a loss very easily. The Packers were coming off beating some of the best quarterbacks in the league but Tommy DeVito had their number. LaFleur thinks his team relaxed a little bit and hopes they learned their lesson.
“I think our team learned a valuable lesson. You don’t play your best, it doesn’t matter who you’re playing, when you’re playing them, where you’re playing, you’re not going to win the game.”
After the emotion of the last three games, this game was a prime letdown spot for the young team. They looked unfocused and sloppy as if they expected to win because the Giants were trotting out a third-string quarterback. LaFleur knows that in this league if you don’t play your best, the other team is going to have a great shot at winning.
Cause For Concern?
Obviously, there are things to clean up but I don’t think this is a panic moment for the team. This happens in the NFL. Literally 20 minutes after the Packers lost, the 9-3 Miami Dolphins blew a 14-point lead to the lowly Titans in the other Monday night game. These things happen in the NFL. Jordan Love led the potential game-winning drive which is huge for his development. Earlier in the season, Love was not doing that. Other rookies like Tucker Kraft and Malik Heath are looking like real players. This loss doesn’t concern me much. If the team comes out sloppy again next week, that is cause for concern.
Matt LaFleur will have plenty to talk about with his team this week. The Green Bay Packers head back home where they will face their old NFC Central foe the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next week.
