Matt LaFleur and the Green Bay Packers could finally be busy this off-season. The pending Aaron Rodgers trade certainly has been taking up most of the attention this off-season, however, there figures to be many other storylines. One of those will be how the Green Bay Packers improve the offense that surrounds Jordan Love. Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, Christian Watson, and Romeo Doubs provide a great foundation to build off. That being said, adding to those weapons figures to be a top priority this off-season. Matt LaFleur spoke to just that recently.
Matt LaFleur Talks Big Need For The Green Bay Packers Off-Seaosn

The Green Bay Packers only five receivers currently under contract in 2023. That includes three members of the team’s 2022 draft class (Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure). To no surprise, head coach Matt LaFleurrecently spoke about the need for Green Bay to make a few moves at the position, including the signing of an experienced pass-catcher.
“I think some veteran leadership would be nice,” LaFleur said, via ESPN’s Rob Demovsky. “Although I think guys like Allen and Randall did such a great job last year kind of taking those guys under their wing and showing them the ropes and the expectations and the practice habits that you need to have to go out there and play at a high level. But there’s going to be a lot of growth with those two guys, certainly Romeo and Christian.”
There are certainly a number of free agent wide receivers still left on the market. However, there aren’t many that Green Bay Packers fans may be excited about. Here is a list of a few:
- Julio Jones
- Robbie Anderson
- Kenny Golloday
- Jarvis Landry
- N’Keal Harry
When Green Bay Packers fans heard Matt LaFleur announce this desire, they had some things to say on social media:
Lol. Classic. It was fine last year tho? Packers need GM help.

We need a different front office , players leaving say they don’t like it there.
