Although most of the attention is on Jordan Love’s leap this season, there are other guys playing for the Green Bay Packers who also improved. Among these players is defensive tackle Kenny Clark.
Even though the San Francisco 49ers eliminated Green Bay in a heartbreaking loss, there were still a lot of high points for Clark and his teammates. For one, no one expected the NFL’s youngest roster to make it this far in the playoffs and give the top-seeded 49ers a good fight.
If not for two crucial mistakes committed by the Packers – one by Anders Carlson and a wild pass by Love – Green Bay would have a solid chance of making the Super Bowl this year. However, their loss to San Francisco ended their season, and that of Clark’s as well.
Even if that’s the case, the Packers can still come back stronger by infusing the roster with young talent via the draft or by signing new free agents. In any case, the future looks bright for Green Bay.
Kenny Clark Shares Why His 2023 Season Playing for the Green Bay Packers is Special
Even though Clark has been in the NFL for eight years, his previous campaign with Green Bay ranks as his favorite. The defensive tackle shares his reason why in an article posted on the Packers’ official website:
“It’s definitely right at the top,” Clark said. “I’m proud about how I played, moving around this year, and playing a lot of the five (-technique defensive lineman), adjusting to that. I think I’ve really been consistent all year and had my career high in sacks and a lot of things this year.”
Although he had a good year with the team, there’s a chance he can be let go and sign with a new one next season. Nevertheless, Clark’s stellar season coincides with the Packers’ surprising run, making both parties better in the process.
