The Green Bay Packers are in the playoffs! This was despite what was looking to be a rough ending to the season. However, since the resurgence as of late, particularly on the defense, this team is hoping to position themselves to go on a post-season run.
Unfortunately for them, one former player does not see that happening. It can often be difficult for former players to turn into media members. As we have seen with Steve Smith Sr. and Jerry Jeudy, speaking what they view as the truth can often send backfiring words back at them.
For young Green Bay Packers cornerback, Keisan Nixon, this will not overshadow his friendship with a former great, but he won’t back down either. Commenting on the chances for Green Bay to find success this year in the playoffs, Richard Sherman did not mince words.
LMAO 7th seed is sniffing SB? LMAO the loss of Aaron has you delusional Got you feeling like a 1 seed but your far from it.
You can understand the reasoning behind what Sherman said. And as a Superbowl winner and cornerback himself, he is maybe more qualified than most to comment on a team being playoff caliber or not. However, he went a couple of steps too far in his comments.
Green Bay Packers’ Keisean Nixon Speaks Out About Richard Sherman
Did it take a last regular season game win against the Bears to get in? Absolutely. But that shouldn’t discount or discredit the team’s ability to make the playoffs, especially when you consider how this team appears to be overcoming injuries and is playing its best football on both sides as they enter the postseason.
And then to blame sentiments for how Aaron Rodgers left the Green Bay Packers is entirely too far!
Especially with the latest developments that we have seen from Rodgers and how the New York Jets season has unraveled before it even got started, Jordan Love is looking like the better long-term fit and solution for the Packers at this point.
This prompted a response from Nixon about what Sherman said.
That’s my big bro. but he’s been talking crazy about us. I can’t wait to call him and talk my stuff back at him.
There is zero doubt that Nixon has respect for what the Pro Bowler accomplished in the NFL. But it still stands that the next time they speak he will certainly make his case to Sherman and stand up for his team and his quarterback.
Green Bay Packers Carrying It On Their Sleeves?
Few are expecting this young team to make a run, and few are expecting them to even look good against the Dallas Cowboys in AT&T stadium. It is possible that the outside noise, criticism, and disbelief from those around the league, like Sherman will provide an added chip on their shoulder as they look to pull what many would consider an upset.
If Sherman continues to post and express how the Green Bay Packers do not have a shot, be on the lookout for Nixon to go off for a day of locking up receivers and hauling in a couple of interceptions.
