Green Bay Packers: Justin Fields Makes Announcement After The Chicago Bears’ Brutal Loss

The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears renewed the oldest rivalry in the NFL today.  Fortunately for the Packers, the 207th all-time matchup went their way as Green Bay thrashed the Bears 38-20 in Solider Field.  The Packers improved their all-time record vs. the Bears to 106-95-6.

There have been a lot of expectations regarding Justin Fields and the Bears’ offense during the off-season.  The Bears fully committed to Fields this off-season by trading away the number one overall draft pick and investing in multiple offensive assets for Fields to work with.  Those expectations fell short in Week One and Fields wasn’t happy about it.

    Fields after the loss:

Justin Fields: “This one hurts…not only because it’s the first game of the season but because it’s a loss to them.” Fields then apologized to all of his teammates for the way today played out.

Fields finished the day going 24/37 for 216 yards, one touchdown, and one interception (which happened to be a Pick-6).  Fields also ran the ball 9 times for 59 yards.

While the game was close at half (10-6), the Packers blew out the Bears in the second half.  Jordan Love finished the day going 15/27, 245 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.  That included two touchdown throws in the second half (one to Aaron Jones and one to Romeo Doubs).

The Bears will travel to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers next week while the Packers will travel to Atlanta to square off against the Falcons.
