All things considered, Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had a successful 2023 NFL campaign. He proved that he can be more than just a decent starter under center for the Packers, who showed everyone they can still make the playoffs even without the presence of future Hall of Famer signal-caller Aaron Rodgers. But with just a year left on his current contract and given the success he had in 2023, his offseason will be one of the most interesting in the league. Will the Packers offer him a hefty extension deal?

Should The Green Bay Packers Break The Bank on Jordan Love?

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Packers are expected to break the bank on the former first-round NFL Draft selection.

Love entered the 2023 NFL season with huge question marks about his ability to lead the Packers in the post-Aaron Rodgers era, but he’s squashed many of those with his solid play. In his first season as the Green Bay Packers regular starter, Love passed for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns with 11 interceptions on a 64.2 percent completion rate.

On top of that, he led the Packers to a major upset win in the wild-card round against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys before succumbing to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round. Love did all that after signing a one-year, “prove-it” extension deal with the Packers worth $13.5 million that guaranteed him a spot on the team until at least the end of the 2024 NFL season.
