The Green Bay Packers have seen a plethora of their former players sign with an NFC North rival. At this point is seems like just about every off-season it occurs. This past off-season saw Dean Lowry sign with the Minnesota Vikings and Robert Tonyan sign with the Chicago Bears.
Not too long ago we saw Za’Darius Smith sign with the Minnesota Vikings as well. Of course, this off-season saw beloved Aaron Jones team up with the Vikings as well. However, it didn’t stop there.

According to NFL Network insider Mike Garafolo, the Bears have agreed to terms with free agent defensive back Jonathan Owens

Owens, 28, played for the Green Bay Packers in 2023. In 2023, he started 11 of the 17 games he played for the Packers. From 2019 to 22, Owens played 31 games (19 starts) for the Houston Texans. He has played 48 games (30 starts) in the NFL with 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 2 sacks, and 227 total tackles.
According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the deal is worth $4.5 million over two years. In the case of a player with extensive playing experience, that seems like a great deal. That might just be the price to pay for some quality depth at a time when it is needed.
Jonathan Owens is just the latest former Packers player to hop across the border to play for a hate rival.
