The Green Bay Packers are now 5-6 following their improbable 29-22 victory over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. Despite the fact that the Packers looked like the better team on the field from start to finish, many were surprised to see them dominate on both sides of the ball the way that they did. Of course, this was due to the fact that Green Bay had 17 players on its injury report going into the game.
Indeed, the Packers were able to pull off the convincing victory without offensive starters Aaron Jones and Luke Musgrave, as well as dynamic rookie wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks. In addition, several starters were missing on defense, including Jaire Alexander and De’Vondre Campbell.
Additionally, running back AJ Dillon was questionable for the game with a groin injury. Green Bay also put third-string running back Emanuel Wilson on injured reserve with a separated shoulder.
The Green Bay Packers Signed James Robinson and Elevated Bo Melton for Thanksgiving

In an effort to ensure that they could field a playable offense, the Packers signed James Robinson, who had spent three weeks with the Packers’ practice squad earlier in the season. He was again signed to their practice squad prior to the game against Detroit. Running back Patrick Taylor, who was released by Green Bay earlier this season, was signed to their 53-man roster off of the New England Patriots’ practice squad.
The Packers also boosted their wide receiver depth by elevating Bo Melton from the practice squad. A seventh round draft pick of the Seattle Seahawks in 2022, he was signed by Green Bay in December of last season. After not making the team out of training camp this year, he was signed to their practice squad.
Melton played two offensive snaps and six special teams snaps against the Lions.
After the game, both Melton and Robinson were released.
The Green Bay Packers Have Re-Signed Bo Melton and James Robinson to the Practice Squad

According to Tom Silverstein, the Packers re-signed both Melton and Robinson. He observed them practicing with the rest of the team on Wednesday:
Jayden Reed, Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon and Jaire Alexander working on the side and not practicing for #Packers. TE Josiah Deguara returns. RB James Robinson and Bo Melton back on practice squad.

It is noteworthy that Wicks returned to practice after clearing concussion protocol. The chance that he is elevated again this season is not high. Robinson, however, could be elevated given the injury concerns within the Packers’ running back position.
Of note: AJ Dillon is not practicing so that he does not further injure his groin. He did not hurt it worse in the game on Thanksgiving and will likely play on Sunday night against the Chiefs.
Aaron Jones is still week to week with a sprained MCL.
Against the Lions, the Packers chose to elevated fullback Henry Pearson. He played two offensive snaps and 11 special teams snaps on Thanksgiving.
