New York Mets pitcher Yohan Ramirez and manager Carlos Mendoza have received suspensions from MLB due to their involvement in Saturday’s incident involving Rhys Hoskins of the Milwaukee Brewers. Ramirez is being suspended for three games and Mendoza one game.

Yohan Ramirez was tossed from Saturdays’ New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers game.
During the seventh inning of a 6-2 ball game Rhys Hoskins stepped up to bat. He already had silenced the Mets crowd several times as he had three hits that included a home run and four runs batted in. Ramirez was on the mound for New York and his first pitch went behind Hoskins, caused tempers to flare, and Ramirez was ejected from the game.

There was old tension between Rhys Hoskins and the New York Mets dating back several years but it intensified on Opening Day.
Hoskins, previously a long time member of the Philadelphia Phillies, signed a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers this off-season. There was some bad blood between the Mets and Hoskins before, but on Opening Day a controversial slide from Hoskins at second base resulted in the benches clearing.

These suspensions may prevent any further bad intentions in the series finale.
After all this drama the Mets and Brewers still have one more game to play in their three game series. MLB electing to announce these suspensions may be an attempt to prevent any further bad intentions for Sundays game. New York has lost the first two games against Milwaukee.
