The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have one of the oldest and greatest rivalries in all of professional sports. Not only do Packers fans hate the Bears, and Bears fans hate the Packers, but former players from both sides of the rivalry chime in on social media to add fuel to the fire.
Just this year, prior to the Packers’ Week One game at Chicago, Bears Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus (may he rest in peace) posted a picture of himself on the field with the caption, “Someone get some pads and a quarterback to tackle.”

Of course, it is not just former players who feel this way about the rivalry. One of Aaron Rodgers‘ most memorable moments was when he told Bears fans “I still own you” after scoring a rushing touchdown in Chicago.

In other words, not only do the fans not like their rival team, but the players, both current and former, are completely bought into the rival as well.
Former Green Bay Packers Tight End Jace Sternberger Roasts Chicago Bears Quarterback Justin Fields on Social Media
Of course, the rivalry has been rather one-sided over the past 30 years. Since 1992, the year that Brett Favre took over under center for the Packers, Green Bay has gone 48-15 against the Chicago. Rodgers was an amazing 24-5 against them during his time in Green Bay.
When the Packers traded Rodgers to the New York Jets this past offseason, many Bears fans and players saw this season as their opportunity to swing the tide in the rivalry. Chicago quarterback Justin Fields was quoted as saying, “We’re coming for the North,” referring to the NFC North division.
It was a bold statement for the young quarterback, especially considering that Chicago’s most recent victory, an improbable and boring performance on the road over the Minnesota Vikings, was just his second victory against a NFC North team in his career. He is now 2-11 against the other teams in his division.
Fields, of course, is a highly mobile quarterback who is often referred to as a running back by his detractors. Well, former Packers tight end Jace Sternberger added himself to that list of critics when he replied to a video of Fields running all over the Miami Dolphins last season:
Best bears RB since Matt Forte??? https://t.co/BLTQxwTVeh

Forte last played for the Bears in 2015 before ending his career with the Jets. He currently ranks 33rd on the NFL’s all-time rushing leaders list with 9,796 yards.
Sternberger, a former Packers third round pick who spent two seasons with Green Bay, recently re-signed with the Birmingham Stallions of the USFL. Last season, he had 33 receptions for 517 yards and seven touchdowns with the Stallions. Birmingham won the league’s championship for the second year in a row last season.
Sternberger spent time with the Buffalo Bills in their training camp this summer, but did not make the 53-man roster.
Despite not being an active Packers player for almost three years, it certainly appears that Sternberger is still invested in the rivalry.

I believe losing J.Fields this will come around and bite the Bears in the ass and I hope so especially if Harbaugh is coach not my choice for sure I don’t speak through my hat I have 11 years playing football with last years in professional CFL in Canadian league and keeping Fields with upgraded team with new better coach as he was on poor situations with horrible all round help If I was Poles I would have to realize you have almost ruined his career look BEAR Fans to see who is best combo for total yards Fields/Moore is 2nd best ahead of all other big names from Kansas city and eagles etc. etc. and a new QB will have all tools that J.F. never had The future WILL BE FOR FANSSAME ”JUST WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR AGAIN ‘ FOR THE NEXT 2 YEARS for whom ever is his replacement BEWAERE FOR WHAT YOU WISH FOR AMEN
