The Green Bay Packers are in the midst of a franchise-changing off-season. The pending Aaron Rodgers trade has everyone anticipating the next era in Green Bay. That era would be fourth-year QB Jordan Love. Many are excited to see his potential in this league as well as the franchise get younger at the most important position in football. However, one position that the Green Bay Packers could target is the back-up quarterback position. There just so happens to be one name that could be an ideal candidate to continue to provide that veteran leadership in the QB room.

Matt Ryan could be a nice addition to the #Packers. https://t.co/KbLtcRkaNa

Greene Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur spent two seasons with Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons. He served as the team’s quarterbacks coach in 2015 and 2016. Ryan was the NFL’s MVP and Offensive Player of the Year while working with LaFleur, giving the two parties an established connection if he wants to operate as a backup and mentor for Jordan Love in Green Bay.
The Green Bay Packers have rarely put many assets towards the back-up QB position over the years. This would certainly be a change of pace for a franchise that is going into a season of uncertainty. Many have confidence in the young Jordan Love, however, it is highly unlikely he will match the play of four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers right away.

I like Matt better than Cam Newton.
