The Green Bay Packers are going into the 2024 season as a contender within their conference. The numerous changes with the defensive coaching staff already has expectations through the roof. The latter half of the 2023 season saw the Packers’ offense playing just as good, if not better than, the rest of the league.
In their final 10 games the Packers went 7-3. That included a dominant Wild Card victory over the Dallas Cowboys, and a three-point loss in the Divisional Round. Special Teams was certainly a focus point for the 2023 Packers. Missed kicks and penalties were the biggest storylines. Tackling is obviously another huge part of special teams. This week the Packers made a move for that aspect of the game.
The Green Bay Packers Make Significant Move For Special Teams
Eric Wilson re-signed with the Packers via a post on his personal Instagram. In addition to being a core special teams player, he is also a depth inside linebacker:
He was most recently remembered for recovering a fumble from Keisean Nixon during the NFC divisional round loss to the San Francisco 49ers. After Nixon’s return brought Green Bay deep into 49ers territory, the Packers were able to hold possession:

It will be interesting to see if the 29-year-old linebacker will get more playing time on defense under Jeff Hafley’s new defense.
