Every year, there is an undrafted free agent (or three) that captures the hearts of the Green Bay Packers fanbase. This preseason, there were three in particular: Malik Heath, Brenton Cox, and Emanuel Wilson. Heath, a wide receiver, was announced to have made the 53-man roster earlier on Tuesday morning. Cox, an edge rusher, was announced to have made the roster early Tuesday afternoon.
Perhaps Wilson, though, who captured the hearts of fans with his six-carry 111-yard and two-touchdown performance on the 14th anniversary of his father’s death, was the most sentimental favorite. And his roster spot seemed the most in doubt.
Green Bay Packers Running Back Emanuel Wilson Announces He Made the 53-Man Roster

A little over 24 hours after Packers Hall of Famer Gilbert Brown said that it would be a mistake for Green Bay to let Wilson walk, the undrafted free agent running back posted on Instagram that he had made the 53-man roster (via Kassidy Hill):

Wilson was the Packers’ sixth- highest graded offensive player via PFF and led the team in carries and rushing yards this preseason.
Last year’s third running back, Patrick Taylor, was among one of the players released among the final cuts. He was released last year, too, but re-signed to the practice squad. It has yet to be seen if the Packers will try to sign him there again or if he will pursue another opportunity elsewhere.
