The Green Bay Packers are now just a few days away from opening their season with a much-awaited rivalry matchup against the Chicago Bears in Week 1. However, this team is still dealing with a handful of injuries ahead of their season opener, which apparently, could now include star offensive tackle David Bakhtiari.
Green Bay Packers T David Bakhtiari Given Day Off Thursday

According to multiple reports, Bakhtiari was not able to practice with the team on Thursday. ESPN’s Green Bay beat reporter Rob Demovsky revealed that the two-time All-Pro tackle was seen on the exercise bike for a second day in a row.
The silver lining here is that it doesn’t sound like Bakhtiari has sustained any sort of injury. It appears that the 31-year-old was merely given a veteran’s day off on Thursday, which at this point in his career, has come more often.
The Packers are still taking a very cautious approach with Bakhtiari and his surgically repaired knee since he tore his ACL back in 2020. It appears that this is still going to be the case for the three-time Pro Bowler this coming season.
Be that as it may, this development does not seem like it’s going to prevent Bakhtiari from suiting up against Chicago. Head coach Matt LaFleur indicated that he still expects the former Colorado standout to be available when they face the Bears:
“We anticipate him being out there on Sunday,” LaFleur said, via Justis Mosqueda of Acme Packing Co.
Bakhtiari himself had a very interesting take regarding his missed practice session, and he too is clearly confident about his playing status for Sunday:
“Practice is important, but not everybody needs practice. That’s about as clean as I can give it. Still probably gonna get fined for that,” he said, via Matt Schneidman of The Athletic.
Green Bay Packers Get Massive Boost on Romeo Doubs Front

It wasn’t all bad news for the Packers on Thursday, though. Romeo Doubs, who missed practice on Wednesday due to a concerning hamstring injury, was able to return on Thursday. The incoming second-year wide receiver also appears on track to play Sunday.
On the other hand, joining Bakhtiari on the sidelines on Thursday was Christian Watson, who is currently dealing with a hamstring injury. At this point, it seems that Watson is the most likely to sit out against the Bears among the trio.
